Socialbliss Style Box review, June 2014

Name: Socialbliss Style Box
Details: Get $100 to $200 worth of accessories and lifestyle products every month.
Price: $47.90

This will be my last Socialbliss Style Box review, as I just cancelled my subscription to the service. I actually really like Socialbliss, but it's one of the more expensive sub boxes that I receive, and I'd like to free up funds to try out other subscription services. I might re-join Socialbliss at some point in the future, but for the time being, I'll just have to live with the memories.

Anyway. Here's what I received in the June Style Box, whose theme was "Boho Chic."

1. Fate kimono wrap (retail value: $50). This is a really cool item! It can be worn as a wrap, a scarf, or a vest (which is how I'm wearing it in the photo above). It was made exclusively for Socialbliss, and I think that it'll be a great piece to transition from summer (when I'll wear it as a vest or wrap) into fall (when I'll wear it as a scarf).

2. Retro sunglasses (retail value: $15). I wasn't sure that I'd like these sunglasses, as I'm really picky about eyewear. I have a small face, so anything too large tends to overwhelm it. When I tried on these specs, though, I was pleasantly surprised. The style was flattering, and though they're not my favorite pair of sunglasses, I'll still be wearing them. Another win!

3. Peruvian warrior ring (retail value: $20). Love this! Socialbliss is hitting three for three so far. This is definitely a hard-to-miss ring, but it's also neutral enough that I can wear it with a variety of outfits. It was hand-crafted in Peru, which makes it even more distinctive.

4. Snakeskin magnetic nail polish by Essie (retail value: $12)
5. Super Shiny lip gloss by Ulta (retail value: $8)

Cosmetics are always fun to play around with, and these are no exception. I'm especially excited to try out the nail polish, which reveals a snakeskin design when you hold a magnet over the wet surface after application.

Once again, Socialbliss came through with a great value and unique items for its Style Box. I'm a little nervous that Socialbliss will offer something absolutely amazing for its July subscription, but in any event, I've gotten lots of cool stuff from Socialbliss throughout the past few months, and highly recommend the service to anyone interested in fashion, jewelry, cosmetics, and great deals!

Socialbliss Style Box review, April 2014

I was so excited to get my April Socialbliss Style Box in the mail last week. I LOVED last month's box, so I had my fingers crossed that this month's box would be just as good. It seems as though I'm on the tail end of Socialbliss's mailing list, because I saw reviews of the April box posted online several days before I received my own. I wanted to be spoiler-free, though, so I didn't read any of them, and as I opened the box I had no idea what I would find inside.

1. Socialite's Night Out bag by Izzy & Ali (retail value: $129). Amazing start! I LOVE this bag. I'm a purse fiend to begin with, and this handbag is perfect. It's classy, simple, and will look great paired with a nice dress for a night on the town. I think that Socialbliss offered this bag in three colors: navy, gray, and black. Obviously, I got the black, and I'm really happy about that, as I think it will match more of my clothing than would the other two colors.

2. Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced (retail value: $15). I already have lots of mascara, but I can always use another tube.

3. Touch of Sparkle cubic zirconia earrings (retail value: $50).
4. It's Sense earrings (bonus gift, retail value: ?).
This is where things started to go downhill. These are cute earrings, but I don't have pierced ears, so I can't use them. Check out a closeup of the cubic zirconia earrings, though:

Sparkly!

5. The Little Black Compact (retail value: $5). This was cute, I suppose, but not quite my style. I knew that I wouldn't use it, and that it would just end up getting lost in my purse, so I traded it.

6. Girls Night Out Nail Art Kit by Stella (retail value: $7). This was another disappointing find. I'm sure some people would make good use of it, but while I love nail polish, I'm not big into nail art. I know I would just end up making a mess of my nails, so I'll be trading this one, too.

I was a bit disappointed in this month's Socialbliss Style Box. Coming off the high that was last month's box, maybe disappointment was inevitable. Still, I'm really hoping that May's box is a step back in the right direction. I loved the purse, though, so the box wasn't a total loss.

Socialbliss Style Box review, March 2014

The theme of this month's Socialbliss Style Box is Paris, a city that, to quote Audrey Hepburn, "is always a good idea." I agree with Audrey...j'adore Paris, even though I've never been there. (The closest I've gotten is two years of high-school French classes and a semester of French in college. That's good enough, right?)

I LOVED almost everything that was in my Style Box this month. But first a little background. The Socialbliss Style Box offers up to $200 in accessories for $47.90. On my budget, there's no way that I could afford $200 worth of fashion items every month (and even $47.90 is stretching things a bit). However, I was curious, so I decided to give the Style Box a shot. Here's what I found inside:

1. Spring in Paris Mattie Bag by Melie Bianco (retail value: $80)--I think I actually gasped when I saw this bag. It's so chic, and I can definitely see myself using it. In each of its boxes, Socialbliss offered one of two color choices: rose and ivory. (As you can see, I got the ivory.) The only caveat is the fact that the purse didn't include a strap. However, I emailed Sociabliss to ask about getting one, and they obliged, charging only $4 for it (including shipping). The strap is already in the mail, so A+ to Socialbliss for its customer service. Anyway, to summarize: I love this purse.

2. Eco-Chic Beauty Brushes Set (retail value: $25)--I'm a minimalist when it comes to makeup, and I usually apply it with my fingers. However, I should probably own a decent set of makeup brushes, so these will do the trick.

3. Flourishing in Florals Headband (retail value: $14)--the pattern is definitely Paris-esque, but my mass of unruly, curly hair laughs at cloth headbands, so as much as I wish I could use this, I can't. I'll be gifting it.

4. Ooh La La Baumes Pour Les Levres (retail value: $1)--in other words, this is lap balm. It's from AVON, which I used to sell, so I wasn't super excited about this item, simply because I have about a million bottles of AVON products in my house. Still, I can always use lip balm, so in the end, I'm okay with it.

-and-

5. French Milled Lemon Verbena Soap by South of France (retail value: $1)--this has a great scent, and I'll definitely use it.

I would give my first Style Box a solid "A" rating. The purse made it for me, I loved it so much, and the other items were great, too. If you're interested in giving the Style Box a try, sign up here: SocialBliss Style Box subscription link
