Coco Rocha Fancy Box review, June 2014

There's still one day left in May, and I've already received my June Coco Rocha Fancy Box. I've been thrilled with the previous CR Fancy Boxes that I've received, so I couldn't wait to see what I'd find inside this one. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the majority of what I received, which I guess was bound to happen eventually. I will say that, in most cases, my disappointment wasn't necessarily with the quality of the items, but instead with the fact that I've received similar items in other subscription boxes, or that I simply won't use the items that I received in this month's Fancy Box.

Lots of wrapping...

And here's what I found.

1. Champagne Delight II Bracelet (retail value: not listed on the Fancy website). This is the one item in the box that I liked. It's a Swarovski crystal bracelet modeled after a bracelet that Coco wore at her wedding. The colors are very pretty, plus the bracelet supports Senhoa, a foundation that helps victims of human trafficking, so I have two reasons to love it. (The Senhoa website features some other amazingly beautiful jewelry, so check it out if you get a chance.)

2. Brides Magazine (retail value: $5.99). Okay. This magazine is the February/March issue, so it's already out of date. I realize that the reason it was included in the box is because Coco Rocha is on the cover, but I'm not a bride, nor a bride-to-be, so I have no use for this, which is kind of a bummer.

3. Essential Smoky Eye Palette (retail value: $32). I've already received a few eyeshadow palettes with similar hues in other subscription boxes, so though this is undoubtedly a high-quality cosmetic, I'll probably end up trading it.

4. Hangster Photo Display (retail value: $13). These are cute, but I can't think of anywhere that I'll hang them, so off to the trade pile they go.

5. THANK YOU Card (retail value: not listed on the Fancy website). I'm sure I'll end up using this card, but the style doesn't really excite me.

----------

This was the first of the four Coco Rocha Fancy Boxes that I've received that I wasn't thrilled with, which I suppose is a decent track record. Before I received it in the mail, I was trying to decide whether or not I should cancel my subscription or put it on hold for a few months, as Fancy Box is one of the more expensive services ($46.95 plus shipping) to which I subscribe, and the items that I receive, while cute, aren't always the most practical things in the world. I'm still undecided; I think I'll give the Coco Rocha Fancy Box one more month and see what July brings before I go one way or the other.

  1. Can you share the site where we can trade items from our boxes we can't use?
